Photographing Craft Work

It's difficult to get good colour results without using correct lighting
Everybody who makes craft items will want photographs of their work some time. As a trained photography tutor, I thought I'd share some of my knowledge with you to help you along the way.
Although a good SLR camera and working knowledge of manual controls will give the best results, it's perfectly possible to take great photos with a point-and shoot digital camera, provided you follow a few simple rules:

- Read your manual! Find out how to set your camera up for your conditions. Learn how to use the manual settings, if available.
- Set your lighting up properly and match your camera settings to the ambient light .
- Frame your picture carefully. Set your camera up to take close-up photos if the item is small, or you want to show details.
- Learn to use editing software to groom your photos to perfection!
