Heavenly Wools Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Where does my wool come from?
All wool is New Zealand sourced Merino or NZ Halfbred wool, hand-dyed in small batches.
At present my stock wool is either 19-20 micron combed merino tops or overdyed NZ Halfbred natural coloured 100% wool or blended with silk 70/30.

I also now dye Bombyx Mori silk hankies, 50/50 Merino/ Tussah top and NZ Mohair locks. These are available (as and when produced) in my Etsy store.

Please Join my Mail List to get notifications of product releases and news.

Can I use the wool for wet felting?
Yes, I only dye wool that has not been superwash treated, as my primary use for it is feltmaking. I use a gentle process to avoid the wool shrinking and felting during dyeing.

What size packages are available?
Wool  is available in multiples of 100 grams (approx 3.5 oz). All weights are approximate but will contain at least the stated amount at standard condition. All stated prices are in $NZ.

Will the wool be true to the sample photographs?
As the wool is batch-dyed it may differ slightly between batches. Please buy enough for your project, or be prepared to mix batches to obtain even colour changes.
Web sample colours are indicative only as they are dependent on your monitor settings and could appear slightly different in colour tone, shade or depth from the wool. I do endeavour to make the colours as true to sample as possible.

Can I pay in another way?
For New Zealand customers only, you may choose a different payment option -  just contact me with your order and I will give you my bank account details - you can deposit funds directly into my bank account, either over-the-counter or via internet banking.

Do you ship overseas?
I ship worldwide through my Etsy shop

Do you have a maximum parcel size?
I normally only ship up to 2kg. If you want more than 2kg, contact me for a price and payment method.

How long will my parcel take to arrive?
My turnaround time on dyeing is 3-7 days; from time to time there may be delays when there are a large number of orders so that I have to dye a large amount of wool at once, or if I experience delays obtaining wool. I will let you know in the event of significant delays.

How do I buy your wool?
Payment can be made via the online shop at Etsy.com or by contacting me directly for my bank details. Wool will be dyed and dispatched when I have received notification of payment. If for any reason you prefer not to use PayPal (New Zealand customers only), please contact me with your order and we will discuss alternative methods of payment.

How much does postage and packing cost?
Postage and packing charges are listed in your Etsy shopping cart. Prices will depend on size of parcel and destination. I pack all parcels to ensure the cheapest possible post charges.

What is your policy on returns?
Should you be dissatisfied with your wool for any reason, please return it to me for replacement.  I will replace wool within the provisions of the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 if it has any material defects. I will not replace any wool sold as seconds.
Please contact me before returning wool so that I know what the problem is. Postage for returns will be at your expense; I will cover the postage cost of replacement parcels.
